What is Botox®?
Botox is used to treat facial wrinkles.  It has been used for decades to treat medical conditions such as eye twitches, muscle spasms and excessive armpit sweating.  Botox has been used to treat facial wrinkles since 1990 and is FDA approved.

Why do we get wrinkles?
Wrinkles are caused by many factors; sun damage, aging, genetics and free radicals are just a few.  The deep wrinkles between the eyebrows, on the forehead and “crows feet” are caused by repetitive facial expressions over time.  Just as persistent folding of a piece of paper will result in a deepening crease, the muscles of the face do the same to the skin. These deeper type lines can be effectively treated with Botox resulting in a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

How is the procedure done?
A very small needle is used to inject the Botox under the skin with pin point precision.   There is no recovery time and Botox can be done on a lunch hour or when the kids are at football practice.

How fast does it work?
Most clients begin to see changes within a few days and improvement can continue for up to a month. Botox can last up to 6 months; the range is between 3 to 12 months.
Botox and Juvederm are offered for men and women on a daily basis at Beyond Basics.
