- Apply SPF 35 – 45 sun block to treatment areas that are exposed to the sun. You can improve your results by limiting sun exposure, tanning beds or tan lotions 4 weeks before the treatment.
- Inform us if have taken any Tetracycline or Zithromax in the past month or if you taken Acutane in the past year or planning to begin taking any of these.
- Inform us if you have had a Chemical Peel, Dermabrasion, Laser resurfacing or a Face lift within the last month.
- Do not use aspirin, alcohol, NSAIDS (Ibuprophen, Naproxen, etc) and blood thinners or gingko and St. John’s Wart for 6 days prior to treatment, to alleviate bruising.
- Shave the area to be treated within 12 hours before the treatment. If treating heavy beards, shave the morning of your appointment.
- Do not wax, tweeze, use depilatory creams, bleaching or have electrolysis done prior to treatments.
- Apply topical aesthetic prior to coming in for your appointment if directed to do so.
- Discontinue all Retin-A, Renova, Glycolic Acids, Vitamin C, or any irritant topical agents for 3 days before the treatment.
- Remove any makeup, lotions, perfumes, powders, deodorant/antiperspirant, bath/shower oil and cleanse and dry the area to be treated before treatment.
- Advise treating clinician if there are any dental crowns, caps, braces or other metal implants. These areas may be more sensitive and the clinician may use dental rolls, gauze or tongue depressors to isolate the area and make the treatment more comfortable.

- Apply SPF 35-45 sunscreen protection on all treated areas that may be exposed to the sun for a minimum of 2 months. Avoid prolonged sun exposure to treated are.
- Wash treatment area with gentle cleanser, use cool or tepid water and pat dry.
- Shaving or using clippers are the only acceptable methods of hair removal between treatments.
- Do not use Retin-A, glycolics, Vitamin C or other irritants for 5 days after treatments, or until all irritation from treatments have resolved.
- If prescribed, continue use of anti-viral medication, or 1% hydrocortisone cream to treatment area.
- Cool Compresses can be used to, if needed, to decrease redness or swelling.
- Avoid direct heating of the treated area on the same day of the treatment such as heating pads, hot-tub and Jacuzzi.
- Discontinue any Chemical Peels for the duration of treatment, if instructed by your clinician.
- Call the office at 945-2737 immediately at the first sign of a blister, persistent pain or anything that you may feel is abnormal. Use antibiotic ointment as directed by the physician.
