As Cayman first Physical Therapist, consistent community advocate, lactation consultant, Lamaze childbirth educator, Doula, mother, grandmother and well known friend to many. Ms. Jacqui serves as the Director of Beyond Basics Medical Spa and is responsible for the tremendous success of the business.
Being a Baby Boomer herself and with her contacts with so many people and families in Cayman, Jacqui felt that while no one can stop the aging process there should be a way to help people Age Later and Age gracefully and teach them how to take care of their biggest organ, their skin. She researched the various devices that were on the market and determined the elos technology by Syneron was unsurpassed in quality. “Syneron was best for all Fitzpatrick types, it was FDA approved, it was safe and there was minimal or no down time and afforded great results. Jacqui is Laser certified and trained and certified in the use of all the Syneron laser equipment and in all the pharmaceuticals that Beyond Basics carries, as well as certified by Aesthetic Enhancement International Institute by Barbara Jones in Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasions." A true entrepreneur, Jacqui makes every effort to upgrade the aesthetic services on island so that no one will have to travel abroad to receive such treatments. Hence the growth of Beyond Basics once again to accommodate all our staff and clients at one location at Smith Road Plaza. Our new services include the HydraFacial (Facial H2O), Laser Tattoo Removal of all colours, Skin Rejuvenation with Matrix RF and SRA and Hand & Foot Healing Therapies to include Manicure and Pedicures along with new line of hair and body care products in the body spa shop. Our lovely massage and nail rooms can accommodate Mother & Daughter, Couples or Best Friends treatments side by side. |

Christina's charm and enthusiasm for perfection, especially in dress and skin care, prepares her well for pampering people's skin and helping them to relax. Graduating with honours as a Licensed Medical Aesthetician, as well as a degree in Health Sciences, Christina prides herself in treating her clients to an exceptional spa experience. She enjoys working with young people to help them learn the importance of prevention of sun damage, with the middle age for maintenance and mature clients looking for rejuvenation of their skin. Christina has also obtained her certification in Repechage®, Advanced Artistry by jane iredale, the leading international mineral based skin care makeup manufacturers. She is certified in all the pharmaceutical skin care lines that Beyond Basics carries, Obagi, SkinMedica and Image. Christina is excited to be able to offer her clients a new service in Facials, called the HYDRAFACIAL, The patented HydroPeel tip resurfaces skin while simultaneously introducing topically applied serums for deep cleansing, exfoliating, hydrating, anti-oxidant treatments and more in one easy step. This treatment is great for melasma (bronze discolouration seen on skin), brown spots, wrinkles, fine lines and acne and allows a deeper cleansing than the normal microdermabrasion. It is great for pre-& Post-IPL treatments for hyperpigmentation and comedonal acne."My patients see visible improvements after the first HydraFacial treatment and feel hydrated for days, and there is no downtime and no redness as in the normal microdermabrasion". Deborah has been a Registered Nurse for 20 years. Deborah believes “good skin care, quality cosmetics and aesthetic procedures are the key to a youthful, glowing beauty. We all deserve to look our best; taking good care of oneself is not an indulgence but an important aspect of life. It is one more way to project our inner beauty.”
Prior to moving to Grand Cayman, Deborah worked for 10 years with renowned plastic surgeons to repair complex facial birth defects in children. Deborah’s experience and knowledge are only surpassed by her desire to help others. Her clinical expertise, passion and caring touch creates a comfortable atmosphere where the client is assured to have an outstanding experience. Deborah earned a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University and attended University of Washington for post graduate studies.
Deborah received advanced training at the highly respected Aesthetic Enhancement International Institute and is certified in Dermal Fillers and Botox. She is also a Certified Laser Operator.
Deborah specializes in establishing a comprehensive plan for clients, resulting in a total aesthetic transformation tailored to meet the individual’s beauty goals. |

Jilla Malek-Mohammadi

Jilla started her career in 1992, with an UK Diploma qualifications and ongoing trainings in chemical peels, micro pigmentation, micodermabrasion, IPL laser and many more. Jilla is qualified in the latest Medical Micro Pigmentation procedures for post surgical camouflage of scars, skin grafts, areola re-pigmentation, post treatment of burns, stretch marks, cleft lip, scalp camouflage and acne/chicken pox scars.
Jilla is an accomplished artist and has exhibited her paintings here in Cayman as well as abroad. Jilla combines her artistic talent, understanding of anatomy and technical expertise to her application of semi-permanent make-up (cosmetic tattooing) for eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner and full lip pigmentation.
Jilla specializes in all modalities of electrolysis which is the only permanent method of hair removal. She utilizes her skill in electrolysis for advanced cosmetic procedures including the treatments of: dilated capillaries, age spots, warts, fibrous blemishes, cysts, skin tags, milia, hairs from moles and various skin blemishes.
Having worked in London, Cambridge, Bermuda, Dubai and Spain, Jilla brings her vast experience and knowledge here to Grand Cayman at the newly renovated Smith Road location |

Beyond Basics welcomes Krista, a certified Medical Aesthetician graduate from the Champlain Institute in Toronto, Ontario. She is also a Registered Massage Therapist and a graduate from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy for over 9 years. As a yoga instructor, Krista trained at the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica.
Her designations include: advanced training in Syneron powered by elos, Biophora Skin Care, Thai and Hot Stone Massage and she is an interdisciplinary yoga instructor. Krista grew up in Eastern Canada and has lived on either coast of her home country. She has travelled extensively for both pleasure and business, spending time in Bermuda before settling in Grand Cayman in 2006, when she held a position at the Ritz Carlton as the Lead Massage Therapist.
Upon her return to Grand Cayman to work at Beyond Basics, Krista aspires to contribute to the exponentially evolving field of wellness and beauty through technology with advanced non-invasive clinical applications - lasers.
At Beyond Basics Medical Day Spa Krista specializes in all laser services, including: hair removal, skin tightening, skin rejuvenation, velaShsape and microdermabrasions, plus therapeutic massage and chemical peels. |

Tenson Edmonds

Tenson Edmonds began practicing PT in 2002 in Jamaica, garnering experiences in varied areas before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2006. He has worked at various specialist and General hospitals in the field of Pediatrics, Neuro Rehab, ICU and Respiratory care. Tenson also has a special interest in sports medicine where he has worked with elite athletes being the physiotherapist with various national teams in Jamaica and here in Cayman Islands.
How did he get involved in Aesthetics? He has always believed in looking and feeling good. Being a PT he could take care of some of that. The opportunity came about around 2007 When his current employer saw the need for a one-of a-kind medical Spa.
The procedures involved laser procedures, having worked with Laser as a PT the Knowledge was familiar and with his interest in aesthetics it was a happy fusion. He has done additional training with Syneron, one of the aesthetic Laser companies, the various skincare lines of Obagi, Skin Medica and Image.
He is also NCLE certified aesthetic laser operator and Laser safety officer( the only United States National council of medical Laser Certification). He enjoys seeing the transformation in the clients and looking forward to serve the Cayman Clients. |

Jill is originally from the East Coast of Canada but has resided in Cayman since 1997. The Medical side of Aesthetics is what drew her to the field as it offers clients a more permanent resolution to various skin and bodily concerns. Jill not only offers the most thorough and comfortable Brazilian waxes but also offers a wide range of esthetic services from skin care to precise brows, laser hair removal and Vela Shape Cellulite reduction. Having a strong background in nutrition and product knowledge she can point you in the right direction to help heal any concerns from the inside out. |

Dawn has been in the spa business for over 16 years. Having obtained her certification in Swedish Relaxation Massage, Aroma Therapy, Reflexology and Cosmetology in Canada, she then took her training in San Diego, California for three levels of Neuromuscular Therapy and Cranio-Sacral Therapy. She has managed spas in Canada, Costa Rica and Grand Cayman.
Throughout her career, Dawn has obtained a vast amount of knowledge on a number of skin care products and her medical background allows her to understand the proper skin care and therapeutic treatment best suited to each individual. On top of all this, Dawn has also obtained her certification in Advanced Artistry by jane iredale, the leading international mineral based skin care makeup manufacturers. Dawn is the Spa Manager of Beyond Basics. |

Elizabeth Gimler comes to us from Boston, MA. She obtained her certification in Medical and Clinical Electrology at Kelly's School of Electrology & Laser, in Quincy MA. It was also there that she furthered her education and got her certification in Laser Technology. During the past 10 years Elizabeth has owned and operated her own business in Taunton, MA. and moved on from there to work in a Medical Spa as a Laser Technician in Punta Gorda, Florida. Throughout her career, Elizabeth has obtained a vast amount of knowledge on various lasers and skin care products. Elizabeth moved to Grand Cayman Islands in August 2007 where she immediately came to work for Beyond Basics Medical Spa. |

Sharon Simpson
Nail Technician/Beauty Therapist
Sharon has been a nail technician for the past 10 years, specializing in
manicures, pedicures, acrylic applications, sculpture and gel nails,
paraffin treatments, reflexology, fibre glass wraps, nail art, etc. As a
qualified beauty therapist she also does facials, body waxing and makeup
artistry.
Sharon was trained at the Face Place Institute of Aesthetics in Kingston,
Jamaica and is also a member of the Aesthetic International Association
(AIA) in Texas, USA. Miss Simpson owned and operated her own business as a
nail technician/aesthetics educator from 2001-2008 before coming to the
Cayman Islands one and half years ago. Beyond Basics is thrilled to have
Sharon join us to perform all our SpaRitual manicure and pedicures as well
as waxing and other beauty therapies.
